What I learned yesterday
running the Berlin Half Marathon
It’s hard.
But everything
worth doing usually is.
You show up, put in the time, give up some comforts. It’s not impossible—but it asks something of you.
And then—suddenly—it’s race
day.
It's cold, but sunny. It's going to be ok. You’re surrounded by strangers: young, old, big, small, speaking different languages. But we’re all running toward the same thing.
And the fans -
you incredible people holding signs, blasting music, singing, cheering —reminding you that supporting each other is how we get through hard times. Humanity at its best.
**Bonus: I got to run with my
son, Henry.
We didn’t run the whole thing together, but we shared something bigger: passion, grit, joy. A finish line we’ll both remember.
